It only does because of her own insecurity. She realizes that right after it's out of his mouth, looking down into her cup. "I wasn't hurt," she admits, taking a quick drink and glancing away. It's time to come clean. If she's going to be his second -- and apparently he really wants her over Nate even -- then he has to know what kind of person she really is.
"I'm not in love with Banner," she says, licking her lips and settling back to lock eyes with him. "I never was."
