Steve raises his eyebrows in agreement at being called rude. He really is. There's no denying it. The rest he doesn't know how to deal with. He agrees that report was hideously wrong especially when you factor in who else was meant to be on the team. He can't agree with the rest.

Steve starts awkwardly, "Not to dismiss your value, but I really think you're overselling me here. I'm not the pillar of anything or really-" Worth getting back. What can he do? What is he really worth when it's all said and done? Steve only feels valuable when he's giving away pieces of himself in order to save the day.
