That is exactly why he's telling him this. It probably won't stop a fight from breaking out, but at least Peter will see it coming. He snorts a little at the comment about Loki since it makes him feel good in his very petty heart that is still bitter Loki is not only alive, but getting along with Thor. Steve quickly softens at the mention of Peter's crew. He hears family even if that isn't the word Peter used.

They're just a little eccentric which you may have noticed is common around these parts." He raises both brows. Anyone can tell they're a weird bunch which is why they're not judging the tree teenager or the talking raccoon. Or basically anything Drax says. "I think we'll work well together when the time comes." Steve is trying not to think of it. He already knows he's going to start spiraling the second he's alone. He doesn't need to make Peter deal with all that.
