When she fixes that smile on him, he suddenly feels like his heart is swelling and might burst though his scientific mind helpfully supplies that that would be highly improbable. None of that ever seems to matter around Pepper when he knows what he feels, as scary as it is. His thumb grazes her cheek, completely forgetting about his problem below the waist in favor of how right this feels. This is a little extreme for 'hanging out' though, maybe. Not that she seems to mind.
