Once she's gone, he easily takes her place on the bed, basking in her scent left behind. He ends up dozing a bit himself, head lolled back against the pillow on what he's come to think of as "Pepper's side" of the bed. He's soaking a bit of a damp spot in the bedspread, but he's too tired to notice or care, only getting up again when Room Service comes knocking.
He tips the young man and talks with him quietly for a minute or two, thanking him as he acquires a band-aid and affixing it to the spot below his ribcage that had been still bleeding when he came in. With Pepper still in the bathroom, he rolls the cart up against the bed and climbs back in, starting in on the wine first, obviously.
