He wakes all at once, as normal, this time, moments before he feels Pepper begin to rouse. After waking next to her three times, he has a feel for her slow waking process and he finds it quite pleasant to stay as still as he can and wait for her to come around. His fingers tighten in hers though they're long numb, hoping she doesn't notice his heart pick up speed under her ear.
